‘Space is there to be shaped, divided, enclosed, but not to be filled or sealed in.’

The above quote is said by renowned art critic Clement Greenberg and came to my attention when writing my dissertation on the Geometry of Fear sculptors. Although said as a direct criticism of the British art group, the quote struck me as pertinent to my current practice and has encouraged me to read more of Greenberg’s arguments on sculpture and the properties he considers valuable for a successful piece.
