‘Who Decides?’

Anthony Caro

Serenade

Painted Steel (1970-1971)

Caro’s method of using industrial found materials is distinctive and his above piece ‘Serenade’ stands out for its placement on the floor over a plinth or platform.  Scale and colour are important in this decision so as the piece isn’t lost in the background.

Elena Elagina

Igor Makarevich

Mixed Media Installation (2014)

In comparison, the piece on the right creates an entire scene for the audience to look into rather than letting the viewer walk around and experience up close.

When exhibiting in the Degree show i plan on placing work on the floor and giving a range of angles to view from and the audience the opportunity for a close up interaction.
